Weight Loss Latvia Patient Journey

Astra (Guernsey)

Two years after my gastric bypass, I feel absolutely wonderful! My energy has doubled, my health has improved, and I’m so thankful to Ilva, Dr. Olegs, and the entire Sigulda Hospital team.

26.11.2023 — today marks two years since my gastric bypass surgery (in 2021)! 🤗
My sincerest thanks go to Ilva Urbanoviča, Dr. Olegs Kozlovskis, and the entire Sigulda Hospital surgery department for their amazing care and professionalism.

I want to encourage anyone who is still thinking about weight loss surgery — after the operation, life truly starts again.
If you want to improve your quality of life, don’t wait — just do it! I feel wonderful, all my previous health problems have disappeared, and most importantly, my energy has doubled.

My weight before surgery was 88.7 kg, now it’s 60 kg — I’ve gone from size 22 down to size 10. 🙏
My weight has remained stable, nothing changes, and I feel full of life.
The only advice I would give to everyone is to stay active — move, exercise, and don’t slip back into old habits. Physical activity keeps both body and mind strong. ☃️❄

And today, Sigulda is just as white and snowy as it was two years ago — a perfect reminder of how far I’ve come. 🥰
Thank you, Weight Loss Latvia! 💚

Bariatric surgery is a minimally invasive operation performed to help people with severe obesity lose weight safely. It works by reducing the stomach size or rerouting digestion to limit food intake and absorption.

People with a BMI over 30 and obesity-related conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea may qualify. Each patient’s suitability is assessed individually by our medical team.
